Integrative Massage Therapy

This is a style where I use my hands and blend the variety of disciplines I've been trained in to cater the service to your body. Expect Myofascial, Deep Tissue, and Swedish techniques as well as cupping and gua sha if requested.

Ashiatsu Massage

Ashiatsu is a deep tissue technique that involves me using my feet to apply pressure during massage. This style features long, gliding, slow full body strokes. Ashiatsu has a deep and meditative quality to it with its combination of depth and repetition and is an effective way to release chronic density, deep knots, and widespread nervous tension held in the body. This style effects a larger volume of blood due to the increase in pressure, and therefore lowers your heart rate, blood pressure, and respiration rate. Folks who manage chronic anxiety find that the depth that Ashiatsu offers brings deep comfort and relief. Your comfort and pain tolerance are always respected, especially with this style!

I offer this treatment as a standalone option, and also offer a blended style where I also incorporate Myofascial Release techniques into the treatment. So expect both hands and feet to be used in the blended approach!

Please email or text me if you have questions about this style or your health history before booking.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial means the system that contains, organizes and connects our muscles with each other across joints. This includes tendons, ligaments and bones. Because this approach is concerned with the relationship between all of the parts of our bodies, it is a technique that is exceptionally effective at unwinding patterns of movement that keep us stuck in unhelpful ruts. Because this approach is concerned with the relationship between all of the parts of our bodies, it is a technique that is exceptionally effective at unwinding patterns of movement that keep us stuck in unhelpful ruts.

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a lot like melting little glaciers within in our bodies. As these hardened fascial patterns release with warm and steady listening hands, the physiological and psychological guarding around an injured area softens into release. This is a mind/body shift in structure and this approach can pave a new way of being in the world that is more connected and integrated.

Expect slow, attuned work with MFR. It is gentle and deep at the same time. This is not an intense pressure style of massage like deep tissue.

Astrology

Astrology is the ancient practice of gaining insights and meaning through observation of orbiting celestial bodies. I trained professionally with local astrologer and teacher, Rosie Finn, in 2023, and I've been studying astrology on my own for over a decade. I offer both traditional readings of the birth chart and transits, and I also offer one-off questions in a "hotline" format.

Hi! Folks know me both as Meg and as Teddy. I prefer Teddy and use that name now, so thank you for making the switch! I know it can be hard to use a new name for someone and I appreciate your effort.

In my bodywork practice I mostly utilize Myofascial Release and Ashiatsu techniques in the treatment room. I also often use cups and gua sha as well on spots that need more attention. I have a foundational training in Swedish and Deep Tissue but I use those techniques in a supportive way rather than as a main approach.

For clients seeking Deep Tissue style work please book Ashiatsu, and for clients seeking more gentle work please book Myofascial Release. And for people wanting to try both, I also offer a blended style in 60, 90 and 120 minute sessions. For more information about both of these styles, please check out their descriptions.

When working with me, expect an authentic and genuine approach from during treatments. I welcome spirited conversation in the treatment room, and also love to hold space for meditative silence. My sessions are client led, creative and collaborative. I hold the belief that listening and reawakening your intuitive body is the wisest guide, and I do my best to let that lead our work together. My work tends to be focused around the client’s “spots”, prioritizing areas that are locked, frozen, numb, or hypersensitive. I also realize that the body is usually not symmetrical, so treatments from me are often focused and integrative rather than making sure that every part of the body gets the same amount of attention.

I’m a huge lover of plants and animals, and love to spend my time in nature, on my bike, or in my garden. I often bring herbal oils and body butters that I make from medicinal plants into the treatment room for folks who like to integrate plant medicine into their treatments.

I’m a member of the LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse community and I love working with and accommodating clients within that spectrum of identities.

I unfortunately do not offer pre-natal massage.
